Race Three - #3 Ready For Trouble : There’s several angles that we find encouraging that this filly is primed for a nice effort in this spot. First, she’s dropping into the appropriate condition and Churchill shippers have been crushing at the Spa this meet. Secondly, she was attempting to close into a ridiculously slow pace last time out which muddies up her form a little bit. Moreover, Norm Casse is showing a lot of intention dropping her down to this level for an ownership group that Loves to win at the Spa. In fact in a small sample- they’re 3/4 together. Lastly, Ricardo Santana is riding lights out ever since his breakup with his girlfriend- talk about a chip on the shoulder! Look for her to be up furiously finishing up late down the stretch.
The Play: 2 units to Win and 2 units to Place.
Race Nine - #1 States’ Rights : We view this colt as a reliable exacta horse to key off of in the verticals in the spot. We had knocks on some of the other logical contenders including the 4,7,9 which led us to take a couple of stabs on unexposed horses with upside to be the exacta and possibly trifecta partners with our top pick. The price shots that we’re going to try and get into the verticals with our key horse are the 3,6,8.
The Play: 2 units on Exacta Key Box 1 with 3,6,8 and 0.5 units on Trifecta Key Box 1 with 3,6,8.
